Katharine
interprets elements of weathered and timeworn beauty into her series
of watercolor paintings. Katharine's vignettes, featuring colorfully
inviting doorways flanked by manicured topiaries and creeping ivy,
abundant still life studies profuse with nature's gifts, and graceful,
stylized waterscapes, have brought her much critical acclaim.
Statement
I am taken by the architectural
elements of old buildings and find them enchanting as they weather
with age...the cracked plaster, moldy stones and splintered wood of
windows or ivy-draped doorways tell their story and bring a sense
of familiarity and comfort to me.
